This project has a little of everything. Passive rainwater harvesting in the form of swales and catchment areas slow and infiltrate water. Active rainwater harvesting cisterns feed the drip irrigation system.
Stone, concrete, and metal hardscape features allow you to traverse the unique topography of the site, accessing a covered dining space, outdoor sculptures, and breathtaking views. Over the home’s construction scars we applied our techniques for native revegetation, so that grasses and wildflowers would reclaim the soil.
Water-wise plants, chosen to provide wildlife habitat, are painted onto the canvas: sometimes in abundant profusion, other times in orderly arrangement. It is a landscape that truly bridges the gap between the home and its surroundings.
